This is a new series of very recent work, printed on beautiful matte Epson hot press cotton paper and hung simply as banners.
The creative process is very much like the making an abstract painting – from concept to folding, photographing and colourizing. This is what I describe as a convergence of photography and more traditional painterly approaches. I enjoy the soft gradients, the sharp edges, rich surface texture, and in particular, the illusion of depth and dimension. The final digital images still retain their ‘paperness’, yet a transformation into another state has occurred.
